From the supplier: The 3,000 students at Richland College in Dallas has implemented some innovative solutions for helping students at the community college learn in several different subject areas. About a third of all community college students, at Richland and elsewhere, fail developmental mathematics courses the first time. Richland implemented the Interactive Mathematics program, from Academic Systems, a multimedia series that is highly learner-centered and faculty-guided. The program allows for a great deal of individualized support, not only from the software and accompanying materials, but from the instructors as well. The system has resulted in significantly less failures. Students are able to progress at their own pace, review material as much as they need, and are presented with video, audio, and real-life examples.
